News Press has recently published their take on the US Census Bureau’s newly released data, showing more and more Americans doing takeouts from fast food chains. According to the said report, the number of takeouts rose to 6% in 2018 and 4% this year. While this is considered a good thing for the fast-food industry, the same cannot be said about the nation’s health status.
News Press included a rundown from Restaurant Business, which published the top 500 chains of 2018, raking the highest sales on their best-selling fast food items. As expected, McDonald’s topped the list, followed by Starbucks and Subway consecutively. Other runner-ups are Taco Bell, Chik-Fil-A, and Burger King.
Fast food items, no matter how ‘healthy’ they claim to be, pose serious adverse effects to human health. Most menu options contain high amounts of sodium, not to mention different types of harmful fat and cholesterol. Continuous consumption of these often results to obesity, high blood pressure, and even heart disease.
“We, at Frux Home and Yard, know exactly how fast food takeouts are convenient but unhealthy for the public. This is why we strongly encourage parents and individuals to still choose to do home cooking and prepare meals from scratch. This way, you’d know exactly what goes right into your food and your stomach. Home cooking has a lot of good things to offer, such as physical and psychological benefits including healthy body, high energy levels, and better mental health,” says Mike MacDonald, Frux Home and Yard’s Media Representative, as a reaction to the recent fast food analysis.
Frux Home and Yard is a renowned online distributor of home and kitchen improvement items. Some of their top-sellers include the Cheese Board and Knife Set, Picnic Backpack Set, Flameless Tea Lights Set, and the BPA-Free Silicone Oven Mitts.
