Villa Montessori Preschool Columbus Using Innovative Methods Such as Zoom Video to Keep Students Learning

Villa Montessori Preschool Columbus acknowledges that the current COVID-19 crisis is not only rough on adults but also impacts young learners significantly. That’s why they are doing everything in their power to help their students keep learning by using remote schooling methods. One of the remote learning methods that has proved most successful is by having their teachers communicate with their students through the use of ‘Zoom’ video technology. The school has promised the parents of their young learners that they will continue to be as innovative as possible to keep their children learning until it’s safe for them to return to the classroom. More on this progressive preschool learning center and their new remote learning methods can be seen here at https://polaris.villamontessoripreschool.com.

Preschool spokesperson, Tamie Crutchfield, had this to say about their important remote learning efforts, “The impact that the current virus crisis is having on classroom learning is something that most of us never thought we would experience in our lifetime. Although there is no substitute for actual hands-on classroom learning, that does not mean that all learning for children needs to come to a stop at this time. We are fortunate to live in a world where smart device and computer communication platforms are readily available. Our school is committed to putting these communication platforms to good use to help bridge the learning gap until our students can get back into the classroom. With our parents and teachers working together, it’s very possible to keep our students engaged and learning during this difficult time.”

Crutchfield acknowledged the most popular way to keep students involved in remote learning has been through the interactive Zoom sessions they are now doing. Zoom is a video conferencing tool that can be used on a 1-on-1 basis or in a group setting featuring many users online at the same time. She says students have been able to take part in several different activities by using the advantages that this platform offers. That list includes math, story time, cooking, and even Reggio sessions. The Villa Montessori Preschool spokesperson also noted that none of this would be possible without the cooperation of parents and they are very grateful for their help.

This school is even being creative when it comes to communicating how they will be helping students learn at this difficult time. A good example is a recent Twitter post of theirs. This post was presented in a poem form that was made popular in the famous Dr. Seuss ‘Cat in the Hat’ Books. The first four lines read, “I will teach you in a room, I will teach you using Zoom, I will teach you in a house, I will teach you with a mouse”. It’s a great way to get a lighthearted message out as to how this preschool is taking advantage of modern technology to keep their students learning. These new innovative learning methods during the current virus crises only add to this learning center’s already favorable reputation. Here are a few reviews from Villa Montessori Preschool attendees’ parents that rave about the progress that their child has made while learning there. Parent Scott Schoeck writes, “My son is in the older toddler program and I have seen a lot of progress since he has started at Villa Montessori. I recently had a parent-teacher conference with Ms. Cassandra and was very happy with all of the feedback. My child looks forward to going to school and as a parent, I couldn’t be happier about that.” Satisfied parent S. Lee writes, “Villa Montessori is a very nurturing environment for our daughter. She is challenged and cared for by the teaching staff and administration. They follow the Montessori teaching method. The director is always open to listening to suggestions/talking to parents. We have also seen minimal turnover at the school in our two years attending which greatly appeals to us.” These reviews were taken from this popular preschool’s Google Maps Business Listing which can be seen here at https://goo.gl/maps/3KMW4ki6wop.

Crutchfield says that those who are interested in learning more about what their progressive preschool learning environment has to offer can contact them by phone, email or by filling out the form on the ‘contact us’ page of their website.
