OH based Villa Montessori Preschool Columbus recently celebrated Teacher Appreciation Week, over the course of which many students sent in videos expressing gratitude towards their teachers. This year’s Teacher Appreciation Week ran from Monday the 4th of May to Friday the 8th of May.
While the week is technically over, the school continues to welcome messages and videos from students and parents who wish to show their teachers how much their presence is valued. Today, parents may browse these messages on the school’s Facebook page, which can be found at the following link: https://www.facebook.com/villamontessoripolaris/videos/2983536921737506/.
Given that students are currently learning from home due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they were unable to express their affection and gratitude towards their teachers in the manner they may have become accustomed to in the past. Similarly, new students who had just joined the school did not have the chance to witness this tradition as it has taken place for many years prior. However, the school is both delighted and proud to note that their students—as well as their parents—rose to the challenge despite the circumstances in order to share their thoughts and let their teachers know how they feel.
“We consider it our mission and privilege to lead the young minds in our care on a journey of self-discovery,” states Villa Montessori Preschool Columbus. “Many parents who come to us are already aware of the fact that we place a heavy priority on education but they may not know that we also work hard to inculcate a sense of empathy, compassion and respect in all our students. Since we’re laying the foundation for students who will one day grow into young adults, we consider it a testament to our work that our students have gone out of their way to send us kind messages thanking us for the role we play.” Learn more about the school and their methods of education at the following link: https://polaris.villamontessoripreschool.com.
Villa Montessori Preschool Columbus also wishes to thank the parents who helped their children put such thoughtful messages together. “We know how much work we put into our lessons but we appreciate how much work their parents are doing at home to keep those lessons fresh in their minds,” states the school. “Many of these bright young minds undoubtedly needed help putting these videos together as well, and we are glad to see how many parents rose to the occasion. If they cared enough to help their children send a simple message, it speaks volumes about the amount of work they put in at home to support the lessons we teach in class.”
Given that classes are now being conducted via video conferencing software, the school observes that the parent’s role is now more vital than ever in their child’s education. Since the school feared this change in educational environment, however necessary, could have a disruptive effect on each student’s ability to learn and absorb new information, they are pleased to share that each parent’s involvement appears to have done much to ease the transition. “We are always looking for new ways to make the most of our current situation,” says the school, “and we’re confident that we can overcome any obstacle with our students’ enthusiasm and their parents’ assistance.”
Online reviews of the school paint a highly positive picture of the effectiveness of their teaching style. A recent 5-Star review from Ganesh Prabha Meenakshi Sundaram says that, “We were really glad we sent our kid to Villa Montessori Preschool Columbus. They follow the Montessori program there, and my kid was encouraged to explore more and learn a lot. Teachers were always keen on listening to parents and communicating about progress. They were also very caring. The environment is very clean. I would recommend Villa Montessori Preschool Columbus to my friends. My kids had a wonderful time there.” Find the school and read more reviews here: https://goo.gl/maps/3KMW4ki6wop.
