Villa Montessori Stone Ridge Now Accepting Enrollments for Their Summer S.T.E.A.M Programs

Villa Montessori Stone Ridge is inviting parents in the community to enroll their children aged between 6 and 12 years in their S.T.E.A.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) Summer Programs. Each week will have a different focus topic, so parents can enroll their children for the week or weeks that their children are most interested in. Weekly topics that have been scheduled include Under the Sea, Future Artists, and Robotics among others. The school is happy to announce that parents who enroll their children for several weeks can also take advantage of multi-week discounts. Complete details on the school’s summer S.T.E.A.M. program can be seen here at https://stoneridge.villamontessoripreschool.com/our-programs/summerprogram/.

Laurette Lander, a spokesperson for the school, says, “Without a doubt, this has been a tough year for learning for children of all ages. Many have lost some of the valuable hands-on teaching time and nurturing that only a school setting can provide. This is especially true for the advanced learning curriculums that a specialized school like ours provides. Our summer S.T.E.A.M programs are an excellent way for our younger learners to get some of this lost learning time back through a fun and engaging experience. Our teachers and staff have put their maximum effort into designing our summer S.T.E.A.M programs so that each student that participates in them benefits in many ways.”

Lander went on to give an example of the first 5-day session of the summer S.T.E.A.M program which started on June 8. It was titled ‘Future Gardeners’. In this session, the children learnt all about different plants and flowers. She says children who attended the session wedre dressed appropriately because they got dirty as they tried their hand at planting. That was followed up by ‘Camping Adventure’ which begun on June 15. The school spokesperson said that they actually used camping equipment outside for this session and learnt to do such things as building a campfire. She says that some good old-fashioned singing around that campfire was also part of the activities. They also have a sports week, Lego week, and artist week scheduled. Lander stressed the need for parents to enroll their children as soon as possible because the available slots fill up fast for this popular summer program.

More information on their summer S.T.E.A.M programs can also be viewed on a post to their Facebook page which can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/VillaMontessoriStoneRidge/posts/1176379856041069.

The spokesperson says that whether they conduct a summer fun learning session or a regular school term session, the advanced Montessori learning techniques are kept fron and center in all learning activities. A Montessori inspired learning system is one that stresses independence, freedom within limits, and an inherent respect for a child’s natural, physical, and social development. She says this style of learning has shown that it has a good chance to greatly enhance a child’s developmental skills. Villa Montessori Stone Ridge is an advanced and accredited Montessori school, which has been a part of the Aldie and Stone Ridge Virginia communities since 2009. The school spokesperson says that they serve the learning needs of children aged 10 months – 12 years old.

Those whose children have attended this popular school for young learners are satisfied with their child’s learning progress. Here is a 5-star review that backs that statement up. Parent Danelle P says, “We have been using Stone Ridge Montessori since 2010 and absolutely LOVE this school. Our toddler has the same first teacher that both of her big brothers had, 7 & 9 years ago respectively. SRM employs and keeps wonderful, caring teachers and provides a top-notch nurturing and highly educational program. We couldn't be happier with our children's home away from home.” This review was taken from the school’s Google Maps listing which can be seen here: https://www.google.com/maps?cid=17403536808344907410.

Lander says that those who are interested in learning more about these summer programs that promote fun, science, and friendship, can get more details on the school’s website or give them a call.
